CASC is proud to announce the launch of our Caregiver Services Program, a new program awarded through NYC Aging. This program is designed to support family caregivers across Staten Island by helping them access the information, resources, and support they need.
Caregivers play a vital role in the lives of their loved ones. Whether caring for an aging parent, supporting a family member with dementia, raising a grandchild, or assisting an adult relative with a disability, caregiving can be both meaningful and challenging. CASC’s Caregiver Services Program is here to help caregivers feel recognized, supported, and connected every step of the way.
New York City is home to an estimated 1.3 million family caregivers, many of whom provide essential care while balancing work, family, and daily responsibilities. This program seeks to address the real challenges caregivers face by helping individuals recognize themselves as caregivers and connect with vital resources, services, and support systems.
For the Older Adult Caregiver 55 and over eligibility category, the care receiver must reside with the caregiver.
CASC’s Caregiver Services Program provides guidance, resources, and connection for caregivers who may need help navigating their responsibilities or finding support.
Take a break with respite care services
Caregiving can be demanding. Respite care gives caregivers time to rest, recharge, and take care of their own needs while knowing their loved one is supported.
Receive supplemental supplies and caregiving resources
CASC can help connect caregivers with helpful supplies, tools, and resources that may ease the day-to-day responsibilities of caregiving.
Connect with others through caregiver support groups
Caregivers do not have to go through this journey alone. Support groups provide a space to share experiences, learn from others, and build meaningful connections.
Get information, assistance, education, and support every step of the way
From understanding available services to connecting to the right resources, CASC is here to provide guidance and compassionate support throughout the caregiving journey.
Many people do not think of themselves as caregivers. They may simply see themselves as a daughter, son, spouse, grandparent, relative, friend, or neighbor helping someone they care about.
If you help a loved one with meals, transportation, medication reminders, appointments, personal care, household tasks, or emotional support, you may be a caregiver. CASC’s Caregiver Services Program is here to help you better understand what support is available and how to access it.
