CASC provides Case Assistance & Information as part of its mission to serve Staten Island residents, 60 years of age or older. The goal of Case Assistance is to provide Staten Island seniors with links to appropriate benefits and entitlements, services and other resources that will assist them in maintaining their independence.
CASC will assist all seniors who “walk in” or call the office. We will direct seniors to specific agencies, if the service is not available at CASC. The CASC staff will complete an intake and then work with seniors to complete applications for a variety of needs such as housing, Access-A-Ride, SNAP (Food Stamps), Community/Medicaid, SCRIE, Medicare, HEAP and any other needs that may become evident.
CASC will assist with gathering all the needed documents and maintain them in the senior’s file. This makes our follow up more efficient and effective, ensuring that the senior’s needs are met. As a result of CASC’s longstanding relationships with agencies on Staten Island, we are able to direct and connect seniors with other resources as well. This enables CASC to assist seniors in leading a viable independent life, fulfilling the CASC mission.
